Having graduated from the Oxford School of Sports Massage (OSSM) , I am a qualified Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist offering advanced techniques in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.
I am a regular runner enjoying both road and trail running as well as being a trained Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) with a local running club. I have trained for, and completed, various races including 5k's, 10k's, half marathons and marathon distance training. I also attend regular yoga classes, cycle and have regular PT sessions. With this in mind, I understand the importance of regular massage treatment to aid self care, reduce potential injury as well as support recovery in order to ensure continued enjoyment of your chosen activity.
Not familiar with the different types of massage? No problem. Come for a consultation, together we'll find out what works for you.
As a soft tissue therapist, I am able to offer treatments to help alleviate sporting injuries as well as help prevent injury e.g. sprains and strains to muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Massage techniques and treatments can include effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, friction, soft tissue release (STR), muscle energy techniques (MET), trigger point and positional release treatments.
Your body, your needs!
Most of us have a busy lifestyle which can take it's toll on our mind, body and general well-being.
Massage is a traditional, therapeutic method of helping to keep our body and mind functioning effectively.
Clair Jayne Sports & Therapeutic Massage offers a blend of traditional and modern techniques to help you prepare for and recover from specific sporting events and the many injuries and tension spots associated with regular training and activity.
Sports massage isn't just for sporty people, it can help to relax and loosen muscles from everyday tasks such as repetitive injuries relating to work and lifestyle situations e.g. sitting at a desk, driving jobs, postures held for long periods of time etc. This can include treating 'niggles', aches, pains / discomfort in the neck, back (upper & lower regions), spine, shoulders, arms, elbows, hands, hips, knees, ankles, feet, legs etc.
You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
